Chicago White Sox swept the Oakland Athletics in their three-game series at Sutter Health Park, winning 9-2, 5-1, and 7-4 behind Munetaka Murakami's homers in every contest—including a 114 mph grand slam in the opener—snapping a skid for the last-place AL Central club now at 10-14. Athletics (11-13, atop AL West) struggled offensively despite Jeffrey Springs' solid 3.34 ERA in the finale against rookie Noah Schultz (3.86 ERA). White Sox rotation depth tested by injuries to Drew Thorpe (Tommy John surgery) and Chris Murphy (elbow), while A's home form middling in Sacramento transition. Momentum favors Chicago heading to Arizona series, but early-season volatility and bullpen usage loom large for traders.
