Viktoria Morvayova enters this ITF W50 Montemor-o-Novo second-round match on hard courts as the higher-ranked player at WTA No. 316 and sixth seed, holding a clear edge in experience and recent results over 21-year-old Belgian Jana Otzipka, ranked No. 557. Otzipka advanced from her first-round encounter only after dropping the opening set 0-6 and saving match points in a lengthy tiebreak before closing out the three-setter.
