Both Brazilian players meet in the first round of the ITF W35 Cuiabá on clay courts. Nineteen-year-old Sofia Cohen Perovani holds a lower ITF ranking near 1681 and limited professional experience, while 33-year-old Rebeca Pereira brings greater career depth with a career-high WTA singles mark of 868 and multiple ITF doubles titles. Recent form favors the veteran, who has competed more consistently at this level, though the young player’s right-handed baseline game could pose problems on the slower surface. Limited head-to-head history and the absence of major ranking points at stake keep the focus on current fitness and adaptation to local conditions.
