Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz faces intensifying pressure to resign amid a Republican-led state House impeachment push over an estimated $9 billion fraud scandal in child care and welfare programs, highlighted by federal investigations, frozen Trump administration funds, and recent legislative hearings on April 15. Walz dropped his 2026 re-election bid in January, citing political attacks and oversight efforts, but has not stepped down from office, with his term ending January 2027. Critics cite systemic governance failures, while Walz defends his administration's referrals to law enforcement; upcoming House votes and Senate review could escalate, though historical low impeachment success rates for governors add uncertainty to trader consensus on resignation timelines.

If it becomes impossible for Tim Walz to resign or to announce his resignation (e.g., due to his removal from office by other means, etc.), this market will immediately resolve to "No."
For this market to resolve to "Yes," it is only necessary that Tim Walz announce that he has resigned or will resign. Whether he actually resigns will have no bearing on the resolution of this market.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the US federal government or the government of Minnesota; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
