Joao Fonseca, the No. 27 seed ranked No. 29, holds trader consensus as the favorite in this ATP Masters 1000 clay-court clash at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, bolstered by his superior ranking, Buenos Aires ATP title last year, and recent Monte Carlo R16 run featuring a straight-sets win over Matteo Berrettini. Hamad Medjedovic, ranked No. 67, counters with surging clay form—including the Napoli Challenger 125 title in late March and an 11-2 record on the surface this year—plus a straight-sets R1 victory over Valentin Royer. Their first head-to-head on Rome's slow clay favors Fonseca's baseline consistency, though Medjedovic's momentum introduces upset risk amid no reported injuries.
