Damon Heta holds the edge in this New Zealand Darts Masters first-round matchup due to his established PDC ranking near 20th and consistent Pro Tour results, including recent Players Championship finals appearances. The Australian has posted stronger long-term averages and greater experience against elite competition than New Zealand's Ben Robb, a top WDF-ranked regional qualifier with strong domestic form but limited exposure at PDC level. Home-crowd support in Auckland gives Robb realistic upset potential in the single-elimination format, yet trader consensus at 64.5% for Heta reflects the Australian's superior consistency and head-to-head caliber in these World Series events. No significant injury concerns have emerged for either player ahead of the August 14 contest.
