Both Hawthorn and Adelaide enter this matchup with comparable 2026 records and strong recent form that has kept the implied probability tightly balanced at 50 percent for the Hawks. Adelaide’s midfield led by Jordan Dawson and Riley Thilthorpe provides contested-ball strength and forward pressure, while Hawthorn’s balanced backline and experienced small forwards like Blake Hardwick and Jack Ginnivan create transition threats. Injury lists for both sides remain fluid, with Adelaide managing hamstring and groin concerns for Zac Taylor, Luke Pedlar and James Peatling, and Hawthorn dealing with select absences that could affect rotation depth. Finals pressure on the Crows, including scrutiny of coach Matthew Nicks, adds intensity, but Hawthorn’s proven home-ground record at UTAS Stadium and recent qualifying-final preparation maintain equilibrium. Any late changes to key personnel or team announcements could quickly shift trader sentiment either way.
