This market will resolve to “Yes” if, in any jurisdiction, any law enforcement or legal authority formally charges or otherwise announces a criminal indictment of Bang Si-hyuk, the founder of Hybe, by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the relevant government, law enforcement, and legal entities; however, a wide consensus of credible reporting will also be used.South Korean police referred HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk and four associates to prosecutors on September 3 without detention on suspicion of fraudulent unfair trading under the Capital Markets Act tied to the 2020 IPO, alleging misleading statements to existing shareholders that produced 263.1 billion won in preserved illicit gains. Prosecutors had twice rejected police arrest-warrant requests earlier in 2026 for insufficient grounds and ordered further probes, signaling ongoing caution over proof thresholds. Bang and the company deny any violations, and the case now rests with prosecutors to decide on formal indictment, additional investigation, or closure before year-end. These procedural hurdles and prior prosecutorial restraint underpin trader consensus favoring no charges by December 31.
