If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLS season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026 ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Soccer; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Mid-season timing in the 2026 MLS campaign keeps the Defender of the Year market tightly bunched, with the top candidates clustered between 29-33% implied probability reflecting the wisdom of crowds on comparable contributions so far. Robert Voloder has quickly integrated into the New York Red Bulls backline after his January move, logging consistent starts and defensive metrics, while veterans Justen Glad at Real Salt Lake and Rudy Camacho continue delivering reliable minutes and organization. Similar patterns hold for Robin Jansson, Miguel Tapias, and others across the league, where clean-sheet rates, duel success, and team defensive records remain evenly distributed without a dominant outlier. No single defender has separated statistically or via standout team success, sustaining competitive parity among established center backs.
