The 2026 Prešov mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 24, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Mayor of Prešov as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by government sources of Prešov, Prešov Region and Slovakia, including the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (https://volby.statistics.sk/).The Prešov mayoral race remains closely contested ahead of the October 24, 2026, municipal vote, with incumbent František Oľha backed by the Democrats and Progressive Slovakia facing a crowded field that includes former mayor Pavel Hagyari running independently, Rastislav Mochnacký supported by a KDH-led coalition, and other independents such as Martin Eštočák and Artúr Benes plus a Smer-SD aligned candidate. Candidate lists closed at the end of August with six confirmed entrants, leaving limited time for campaigns to consolidate support in a city where no single contender has historically cleared a first-round majority. Trader pricing reflects this fragmentation and the absence of recent public polling, as local priorities around infrastructure completion, transparency in procurement, and urban services create openings for challengers while Oľha emphasizes continuity on ongoing projects. Developments such as coalition endorsements, candidate debates, or turnout patterns in the final weeks could shift momentum and produce clearer separation before election day.
