Kirk Cousins holds overwhelming market consensus as the Las Vegas Raiders' Week 1 starter due to head coach Klint Kubiak's explicit plan to open the 2026 season with the veteran at quarterback, granting him first-team reps throughout training camp and listing him atop the depth chart ahead of the draft's top selection. The Raiders signed the 15-year pro this offseason specifically to provide immediate stability and leadership for a new offensive system while mentoring rookie Fernando Mendoza, the No. 1 overall pick and Heisman winner from Indiana. Aidan O'Connell remains a distant third option on the depth chart. A late preseason surge by Mendoza or an unforeseen injury to Cousins represent the primary paths to altering the current positioning before the regular season begins.

In the event two listed quarterbacks take the field on the first offensive play of the Las Vegas Raiders’ Week 1 game, this market will resolve in favor of the player directly receiving the snap. If neither listed quarterback directly receives the snap, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
If Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or no official starter has taken the field within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL and/or the Las Vegas Raiders; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
