Elvina Kalieva (No. 140) enters as the higher-ranked American against Whitney Osuigwe (No. 178) in the WTA 125K Madrid round of 16 on outdoor clay, with trader consensus reflecting Kalieva's stronger 16-7 season record versus Osuigwe's 11-9. Both advanced via gritty three-set R32 wins two days ago—Kalieva rallying past compatriot Robin Montgomery 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, and Osuigwe overturning Simona Waltert 3-6, 6-3, 6-2—highlighting endurance key at Madrid's altitude.
