Mercedes teammates George Russell and Kimi Antonelli command trader consensus for the 2026 F1 Drivers' Championship, with Russell's 43.5% implied probability edging Antonelli's 30.4% amid their 1-2 lead in driver standings after the Japanese Grand Prix—Antonelli atop with 72 points, Russell at 63, well clear of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc (49) and Lewis Hamilton (41). Recent developments fueling this positioning include Antonelli's breakout race pace, outqualifying Russell twice already this season versus three times all of 2025, and Mercedes' constructors' dominance highlighting superior W17 car pace under new regulations. Internal rivalry intensifies pressure on Russell, who faces calls to erode Antonelli's confidence, while Red Bull and McLaren struggles keep Verstappen and Norris below 3%, underscoring Mercedes' early-season edge despite 17 races remaining.
