South Africa, Kenya, and Guinea enter the AFCON 2027 qualifiers in Group D on nearly even footing in trader pricing, reflecting comparable squad depth, recent international form, and limited head-to-head data among the sides. Kenya benefits from co-host status and home advantage in the opening window, while new coach Benni McCarthy has named an experienced provisional squad blending overseas talent with domestic players. South Africa, under recently appointed Pitso Mosimane, opens against Guinea at Orlando Stadium and carries strong CAF pedigree despite transition. Guinea fields a competitive roster capable of challenging for top spot across the six-match schedule. Eritrea trails as the clear underdog with limited resources. With Matchdays 1 and 2 set for late September, early results in the tightly scheduled windows will shape momentum before the November and March rounds.
