In the Tiriac Open final on Bucharest's clay courts, higher-ranked Mariano Navone (#60) holds the edge over qualifier Daniel Merida Aguilar (#136) based on his strong clay-court pedigree, prior head-to-head win over Merida (7-6(3), 4-6, 6-3 in 2022 on clay), and experience in his third ATP-level final. Navone advanced Saturday by saving two match points in a 3.5-hour semifinal marathon against Botic van de Zandschulp, while 21-year-old Merida produced a stunning upset over Fabian Marozsan, saving 17 break points en route to his maiden ATP final after qualifying. Both face fatigue from deep runs, with cool 13°C conditions potentially favoring endurance; Navone's consistency tempers Merida's breakout momentum.
