The 1st ODI between Bangladesh and New Zealand at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka is evenly poised at 50% implied probability for a Bangladesh win, as trader consensus weighs the hosts' home advantage on spin-friendly pitches against New Zealand's superior ICC ODI ranking and pace-heavy attack. Bangladesh retained their unchanged squad—captained by Mehidy Hasan Miraz—following a 2-1 series victory over Pakistan last month, with PSL participants like Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam rejoining after April 13. New Zealand, led by Tom Latham, welcomed back pacers Matt Fisher, Will O'Rourke, and Blair Tickner from injury but lost all-rounder Kristian Clarke to a hand issue, prompting Ben Lister's inclusion. Toss outcome and spin bowling effectiveness could tip the balance, given the slow Mirpur surface favoring turn and grip.
