Eli Lilly and Peptron entered a non-binding Platform Technology Evaluation Agreement in October 2024 granting Lilly only a limited, non-exclusive license for internal R&D on applying the SmartDepot ultrasonic spray-dried PLGA microsphere platform to select peptides. The original 14-month term was extended to a maximum of 24 months ending October 7, 2026, explicitly framing any future commercial license or technology transfer as a separate, uncommitted step. No binding commercial agreement has been announced despite nearly two years of joint evaluation, recent expansion into CNS applications, and preclinical data sharing on candidates like PT403. Lilly retains unilateral termination rights with 30 days’ notice and has pursued alternative long-acting delivery partnerships elsewhere. With weeks remaining before the deadline and no reported progress toward definitive terms, trader consensus strongly favors resolution to “No.”
