The New York Mets hold home-field advantage at Citi Field for the series finale against the Oakland Athletics, following a 7-5 victory in Thursday's opener that boosted their record to 8-6 (third in NL East) while dropping the A's to 5-8 (fourth in AL West). Pitching matchup tilts toward Mets ace Kodai Senga (0-1, 3.09 ERA) over Athletics lefty Jacob Lopez (0-1, 6.48 ERA), with Senga's command providing a clear edge amid Lopez's early struggles. Oakland faces roster hits from Brent Rooker's oblique strain and Jeff McNeil's last-minute scratch (his Citi Field return after December trade), while Mets manage without Juan Soto (calf) and Jorge Polanco (Achilles). Both teams show middling early form, but Mets' bullpen depth and recent momentum shape trader focus.
