Toronto Blue Jays enter Chicago as 4-2 favorites against the 1-5 White Sox in their home opener makeup game from April 2 postponement, with Dylan Cease (1.69 ERA, 12 K) starting for Toronto against Grant Taylor (4.50 ERA) in a depleted pitching matchup for both sides. The Jays sit second in the AL East buoyed by hot bats like Andres Gimenez (.364 AVG, 5 RBI) and Okamoto (2 HR), while Chicago ranks last in the AL Central amid pitching woes allowing 8.67 RA/G early. Heavy injured lists plague rotations—Toronto without Berrios, Bieber, and Yesavage on 15-day IL; White Sox missing Thorpe, Vasil, and others—heightening bullpen strain, with 50-degree weather at Rate Field potentially favoring TOR's momentum in this three-game set.
