The 2026 AFC title race remains tightly bunched because multiple teams enter training camp with overlapping strengths in quarterback play, defensive upgrades, and schedule positioning. Baltimore leads implied probabilities after hiring defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and adding edge rusher Trey Hendrickson to complement Lamar Jackson’s dual-threat ability following an 8-9 finish in 2025. Buffalo sits close behind under new head coach Joe Brady, where Josh Allen anchors an offense bolstered by receiver additions and defensive reinforcements after Sean McDermott’s departure. New England’s 9.5% share reflects carryover momentum from a 14-win 2025 campaign and Drake Maye’s continued development, tempered by a tougher first-place schedule and roster adjustments. Kansas City, Los Angeles, Houston, and Cincinnati occupy the next tier on the strength of proven cores and recent roster continuity, while depth across the conference—home/away splits, injury resilience, and divisional parity—keeps no single club above roughly 18% in trader consensus.
