Madison Keys enters this Credit One Charleston Open quarterfinal with a 3-2 head-to-head edge over Belinda Bencic, including a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win at Indian Wells last year, though they split their two prior clay meetings. Keys advanced past Anna Bondar 6-2, 7-5 in the round of 16 yesterday, showcasing her powerful groundstrokes and serve on the fast green clay, while former champion Bencic, on a strong comeback trail post-maternity, beat Sara Bejlek 7-6(5), 6-2. Both past Charleston winners—Keys in 2019—the matchup hinges on Keys' baseline aggression versus Bencic's all-court precision and movement, with no reported injuries and mild outdoor conditions favoring rallies. Semifinal implications add pressure in this WTA 500 draw.
