Damir Dzumhur (ATP 74), a 33-year-old clay court veteran with over 350 career wins on the surface and a 4-7 record this season including upsets over Pedro Martinez and Miami qualifier Buse, advanced to the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters qualifying final by defeating Nicolai Budkov Kjaer 7-6(7), 7-5. He faces 20-year-old Alexander Blockx (ATP 92), a rising Belgian power player who prefers faster hard courts and indoors, after Blockx dropped the first set but rallied 7-?, 7-6(6) in his opener. With no head-to-head history, trader consensus highlights Dzumhur's tactical variety, endurance, and Monte Carlo surface affinity against Blockx's relative inexperience on slow, heavy clay where rallies extend and big serves lose bite.
