Defending champion Jessica Pegula seeks back-to-back Credit One Charleston Open titles after grinding through four three-set matches on green clay, totaling nearly 10 hours on court, capped by a 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 semifinal win over Iva Jovic yesterday. Yuliia Starodubtseva, in her first WTA final, rides momentum from straight-sets upsets, including No. 5 seed Madison Keys 6-1, 6-4, following efficient victories over McCartney Kessler, Renata Zarazua, and Ekaterine Gorgodze. No head-to-head exists, pitting Pegula's top-seed experience and clay familiarity—despite February knee withdrawal—against the Ukrainian qualifier's fresh legs and crafty play. The outdoor final starts not before 1 p.m. ET, advanced due to inclement weather forecast.
