Donna Vekic holds a substantial No. 117 WTA ranking edge over Sachia Vickery's No. 704 entering this Credit One Charleston Open qualifying clash on green clay, fueling trader consensus toward the Croatian despite both's shaky 2026 form—Vekic at 6-7 with recent Miami qualifying losses to Lulu Sun after beating Whitney Osuigwe, and Vickery at 2-5 amid ITF defeats to Sarah Rokusek and Cadence Brace. Vekic earned a wildcard into quals post-Indian Wells struggles, while Vickery seeks resurgence on home soil where her 56% career clay win rate slightly outpaces Vekic's 53%. Vickery leads their lone head-to-head 1-0 from 2023 US Open quals, but Vekic's pedigree and experience temper upset potential amid no reported injuries.
