Yan Cheng Chen enters this ITF M25 Taipei 2 first-round matchup on hard courts as the clear favorite based on trader pricing, reflecting his ATP ranking near 1050, career hard-court record near 40-38, and greater experience at the M25 level. The 24-year-old has competed regularly in recent Chinese ITF events, posting a mixed 2026 record with wins over players like Min Hyuk Cho and Shintaro Imai alongside losses to higher-ranked opponents. Yen-Chun Wang, a 17-year-old junior with an ITF ranking around 140 and limited senior results (roughly 3-3 on hard in 2026), brings youth and recent local event exposure but faces a steep step up in competition depth after early exits in prior Taipei M25 draws. Surface consistency on outdoor hard and Chen’s edge in match volume at this tier shape the current implied probabilities.
