The FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind features a deep field of PGA Tour professionals entering the first FedEx Cup playoff event, where first-round scoring variance on the demanding, water-lined layout routinely produces leaders from outside the top favorites. With the tournament opening August 13, recent player form, course history, and rest advantages are already reflected in trader consensus, yet no single golfer holds a decisive edge after 18 holes given typical low-scoring opportunities and the absence of confirmed weather or setup details that could favor one style of play. This dynamic keeps implied probabilities tightly clustered near 50% across dozens of names, underscoring the competitive parity and historical precedent for surprise first-round leaders in Memphis.
