Recent polling trends ahead of Berlin’s September 20 state election show Die Linke consistently ahead of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, with Linke support near 19-21 percent and Grüne figures typically in the 15-17 percent range across INSA, Civey, and Infratest dimap surveys through mid-August 2026. Linke’s sustained gains since 2025, driven by stronger appeal among younger and left-leaning voters on housing and social issues, have widened this gap, while Grüne support has remained flat or edged lower amid broader coalition fatigue. The CDU’s July candidate adjustment produced only marginal shifts and did not boost Grüne relative standing. These patterns underpin the market’s 81.5 percent implied probability that Linke will outpoll Grüne.
