Julia Stamatova enters this ITF W15 clay-court opener in Kursumlijska Banja as the stronger favorite, backed by her higher WTA ranking near 860 and greater professional experience at age 32 compared to the 18-year-old Higuita Barraza ranked around 1060. Stamatova’s recent straight-set victory over Shikhanova on the same surface highlights solid form and consistency, while Higuita Barraza has shown mixed results, including a recent loss in the tournament. The matchup favors the Bulgarian’s established baseline game and clay-court comfort against the younger Colombian’s developing power, though upsets remain possible given the low-level ITF field and variable conditions typical of these events.
