Maxime Janvier holds a substantial ranking advantage at approximately 579 compared to Julian Alonso Vivanco’s 1210, giving the veteran Frenchman the edge in experience on clay courts typical for the M25 Mataro event. Janvier enters after a straight-sets victory in the prior round and maintains solid recent results on the surface, while the 21-year-old Spaniard builds momentum from earlier 2026 wins in lower-level ITF events. Their lack of prior head-to-head meetings leaves stylistic matchups uncertain, though Janvier’s greater professional depth and consistency often prove decisive in such encounters. Weather and court conditions in Mataro could influence baseline rallies, but both players appear fit with no reported injuries ahead of the second-round clash.
