Coco Gauff and Belinda Bencic renew their head-to-head rivalry in the Wimbledon fourth round on grass, where both advanced via three-set third-round victories—Gauff overcoming Claire Liu after earlier tight wins that ended a two-year grass drought, and Bencic defeating Anna Kalinskaya. Gauff, a multiple Grand Slam champion, brings superior recent ranking and power but has historically navigated variable results on the surface, while Bencic leverages her Olympic title experience, solid 2026 form, and proven ability to upset higher seeds in prior encounters. The match timing on July 5 places both players on short turnaround from demanding openers, with draw position and potential quarterfinal implications adding pressure amid typical Wimbledon variables like court speed and weather.
