Morocco enters AFCON 2027 Group A qualifying as the clear talent favorite alongside Gabon, Niger, and Lesotho, yet the market reflects a tight race heading into Matchday 1 on September 25. The Atlas Lions face Gabon at home in Rabat before traveling to face Lesotho, but multiple absences including Achraf Hakimi and Sofyan Amrabat plus additional injury and suspension concerns force significant squad rotation across defense and attack. Niger and Lesotho open against each other while Gabon hosts the return fixture days later, creating early opportunities for points that could keep the group standings fluid after the first window. With all four sides level on zero points and full rounds still ahead through March 2027, trader consensus prices in the realistic chance that underdogs capitalize on Morocco’s temporary depth issues or secure valuable draws on the road. Home advantage, recent form, and how quickly Morocco integrates replacements will shape early momentum in this four-team group.
