Dino Prizmic holds the edge in trader consensus for this US Open first-round hard-court matchup against Alexander Shevchenko, reflecting the Croatian’s stronger 2026 win rate, career-high ranking near 70, and proven ability to upset higher-ranked opponents such as Novak Djokovic and Ben Shelton on clay earlier in the season. Prizmic’s solid hard-court record and baseline reliability provide an advantage on the faster New York surface, though his recent withdrawal from Winston-Salem due to injury raises questions about match fitness after mixed results in Cincinnati and Umag. Shevchenko, ranked around 89-97, enters with inconsistent form, including early exits in Montreal and Cincinnati, despite reaching the Gstaad semifinals on clay. With no prior head-to-head and both players splitting time on the main tour, the market favors Prizmic’s youth and upside in a best-of-five encounter where sustained return pressure and second-serve performance could prove decisive.
