Mercedes leads the 2026 constructors' championship with a commanding points advantage after winning seven of the first nine grands prix, driven by consistent car performance and strong results from George Russell and rookie Kimi Antonelli. Ferrari sits second thanks to targeted upgrades and two victories, narrowing the gap during the mid-season development battle. McLaren, the defending champions, trails significantly after reliability issues and slower adaptation to the new regulations, with team principal Andrea Stella noting delayed progress on upgrades. The summer break and upcoming packages from rivals could influence the second half, though trader pricing reflects Mercedes' current dominance in the points battle.
