Luca Castagnola enters the first-round ITF M15 Ljubljana clay-court match as the higher-ranked player at world No. 795 against Pietro Romeo Scomparin at No. 944. Both Italians are in their early-to-mid 20s with limited ATP-level experience, making this a debut head-to-head on a surface that typically rewards consistent baseline play and movement. Castagnola holds the edge in recent form and career-high ranking proximity, while Scomparin’s lower ranking reflects fewer consistent results at this level. No late withdrawals or scheduling changes have been reported, and the outdoor clay conditions favor players comfortable with extended rallies. The outcome hinges on which competitor maintains focus through potential early-match adjustments typical in ITF events.
