The Chicago Cubs enter their three-game series at Coors Field with a 32-30 record, sitting fourth in the NL Central, while the Rockies sit last in the NL West at 22-38. Chicago’s rotation has been thinned by multiple injuries, including Justin Steele’s ongoing elbow recovery, Matthew Boyd’s knee surgery, and Edward Cabrera’s finger blister, forcing reliance on depth options and bullpen support. The Rockies have dealt with their own ailments, such as Brenton Doyle’s oblique strain and other day-to-day concerns, amid a season of inconsistent offense and defense. The high-altitude venue at Coors typically boosts scoring, a factor that could influence run totals regardless of starting pitching matchups. Recent form shows both clubs navigating roster challenges, with the Cubs seeking to stabilize after a frustrating May stretch.
