Several lower-seeded CAF sides, including Ghana, Cape Verde, and Congo DR, enter the expanded 48-team 2026 World Cup in comparable Pot 4 or borderline Pot 3 positions after mixed qualifying campaigns that left their FIFA rankings clustered in a narrow band. Recent group-stage results and runner-up adjustments in CAF qualifiers have produced no clear laggard, while draw uncertainty and the possibility of early elimination in tough opening matches keep implied probabilities bunched between 45% and 51%. Trader consensus reflects this parity in form, depth, and schedule difficulty, with no single nation pulling ahead on recent momentum or roster stability.
