Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” holds a commanding lead in the CMA Single of the Year market due to its unprecedented chart dominance, including a record 21-plus weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and simultaneous tops on country charts. The track, co-written with Miranda Lambert and produced by Langley and Ben West, also secured ACM Single and Song of the Year honors earlier in 2026 and earned Langley a leading nine CMA nominations, including two in this category. Nominations announced September 10 reinforced the industry narrative around her crossover success and back-to-back momentum. Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” and Lainey Wilson’s “Somewhere Over Laredo” trail as notable but distant contenders, while Langley’s own “Be Her” and Cody Johnson’s “The Fall” register minimal market support. The November 18 ceremony remains the key upcoming catalyst.
