This market will resolve according to the change in the total nonfarm payroll employment reported by the BLS "Employment Situation Summary" for September 2026, scheduled to be released on October 2, 2026, at 8:30 AM ET. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month. The BLS "Employment Situation Summary" may be found here: https://www.bls.gov/bls/newsrels.htmThe strong August 2026 nonfarm payrolls print of +162,000—nearly triple consensus expectations—has anchored trader positioning for the September report due October 2, with the widest probability mass (28%) on a 50k–100k gain reflecting expectations of moderation from that outlier. Steady 4.1% unemployment, upward revisions to prior months, and resilient private-sector hiring in leisure, government, and health care underscore labor-market durability, yet recent softness in wage growth to 3.1% year-over-year and mixed leading indicators leave room for downside surprises. Hawkish Federal Reserve communications ahead of the September FOMC, coupled with firming inflation data, have reinforced the link between employment strength and policy expectations, keeping outcomes across all buckets closely contested as traders weigh base-rate reversion against ongoing economic resilience.
