Han Shi enters this W15 Tianjin quarterfinal as the clear market favorite against veteran Jia-Jing Lu on hard courts, reflecting her superior 2026 form, younger age (21 vs. 36), and dominant head-to-head record. Shi, currently ranked around No. 262 with a career-high of No. 200, has posted a strong win rate this season on hard surfaces while collecting multiple ITF titles and advancing deep in recent events. She leads the head-to-head 4-1 overall (3-1 on hard), including straight-sets victories over Lu in 2026 at W35 Wuning and W35 Luzhou. Lu, ranked near No. 378 with a career-high of No. 162, brings extensive experience and solid recent results in lower-tier events but has struggled to convert against higher-ranked or in-form opponents. Both players are Chinese competitors in a home tournament, yet Shi’s current momentum, higher ranking trajectory, and proven edge on the surface shape the prevailing trader consensus favoring her advancement.
