Elena Malygina holds a clear ranking advantage at No. 314 over Gaia Maduzzi’s No. 596 entering their W35 Krakow round-of-16 clash on clay. The 26-year-old Estonian brings more ITF experience and recent exposure at higher-tier events, though her latest outing ended in a three-set loss at a W75 tournament. Maduzzi, a 20-year-old Italian, arrives with momentum after a straight-sets first-round victory in Krakow and has shown competitive results on European clay this summer. No prior head-to-head meetings exist, leaving surface-specific movement, first-strike effectiveness on the slower courts, and stamina in potentially long rallies as the decisive variables.
