Rinko Matsuda enters the ITF W15 Tianjin 3 final as the stronger favorite against Meng Yi Chen on outdoor hard courts, backed by a higher WTA ranking near 484 and a dominant 31-12 record in 2026. The Japanese player, seeded fourth, has shown consistent results at the ITF level with improved return metrics and a higher win rate against comparable opposition. Chen, ranked around 868, has posted a 10-11 mark this year and advanced through a tougher semifinal path but trails in overall career win percentage and recent momentum. The matchup marks their first meeting, with both left-handers relying on baseline rallies suited to the surface, though Matsuda’s edge in recent form and schedule positioning shapes the current market consensus.
