Yuki Mochizuki holds the edge in experience and ranking as the 28-year-old Japanese player ranked around No. 737 faces 20-year-old local Chen-Yang Hsu on outdoor hard courts at the ITF M25 Taipei 2. Mochizuki brings a deeper professional background from recent M15 and Challenger events, while Hsu, coming off a straight-sets win in qualifying, relies on home-surface familiarity and youth. The matchup features limited head-to-head history, with both competing in early rounds of this Futures-level event. Recent form shows Mochizuki with mixed results across Asian hard-court swings, and no confirmed injuries or withdrawals affect either side. Surface speed and match fitness after short turnarounds remain key variables in this closely contested opener.
