Mariia Tkacheva enters this W15 Astana 5 hard-court match as the clear favorite against 17-year-old Aleksandra Khomitskaya, driven by her WTA ranking of 731 and greater ITF experience compared to the teenager’s limited senior results. Tkacheva has competed at higher levels with a career-high near 266, though her recent form shows inconsistency with several losses on the ITF circuit. Khomitskaya, ranked outside the top 1,000 in singles, has shown promise through qualifier wins in prior Astana events but faces a significant step up in opposition. Both players are Russian, with no prior head-to-head, making surface adaptation and physical conditioning on outdoor hard the key variables likely reflected in trader pricing.
