Brazil's 2026 IPCA inflation consensus has settled near the 5.0-5.5% range, as reflected in the leading Polymarket bucket, driven by the central bank's Focus survey and government projections that recently converged around 5.03-5.1% after earlier upward revisions. July 2026 year-over-year inflation eased to 4.44%, aided by softer food, transport, and fuel components amid retreating global oil prices, yet remains above the 3% target midpoint and within a still-restrictive Selic environment near 14%. Persistent fiscal pressures, resilient labor markets, and commodity exposure continue to anchor expectations above the tolerance band, while recent monetary tightening and lower analyst forecasts have capped upside risks and reinforced the 5% cluster as the market-implied mode ahead of further Copom decisions and September data.
