Han Shi enters this ITF W35 Wuning hard-court match as the higher-ranked player at approximately No. 324 with a career-high of 200, while 36-year-old Jia-Jing Lu sits near No. 399 after a career peak of 162. The pair has met previously on clay, where Shi secured a straight-sets victory in 2024. Recent form shows Shi competing at higher-level ITF events despite a recent loss in Japan, whereas Lu has split results in regional W35 tournaments this year. Both players are Chinese, limiting travel factors on the outdoor hard surface, though Lu’s experience in longer rallies could test the younger Shi in a potential three-set battle.
