Yordan Alvarez commands the market at 85% implied probability due to his league-leading 23 intentional walks in 2026, fueled by his elite power and on-base production as the Astros' primary slugger. Opposing managers routinely issue IBBs to the left-handed DH to set up force plays or avoid his .329/.442/.640 slash line and 35 home runs, especially in high-leverage situations with runners aboard. This strategy has widened his edge over Shohei Ohtani (16 IBB) and others amid Alvarez's MVP frontrunner status and Triple Crown pursuit. Trader consensus reflects his sustained form, consistent lineup placement, and the rarity of comparable threats emerging late in the season.
