Both advanced through round of 32 wins yesterday—Wen over Jinbao Ma, Shinozuka defeating Man Ho Kwan 3-1—yet Wen's versatile control, minimal losses only to elite players in 2026, and home-crowd boost in China outweigh Shinozuka's potent left-handed attack and occasional final appearances marred by unforced errors and mental lapses. Realistic shifts could stem from Shinozuka's spin-heavy aggression sparking an early upset or a late injury withdrawal.
