Barcelona and Real Madrid enter the 2026-27 campaign as the clear frontrunners for La Liga’s top two positions after Barcelona secured back-to-back titles, most recently clinching the 2025-26 crown with an El Clásico victory. Hansi Flick’s side retains core strengths around Lamine Yamal and squad depth, while José Mourinho’s return at Real Madrid has sharpened focus on their attacking talents including Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Jr., and Jude Bellingham. Atlético Madrid sits a clear tier behind as the next most credible challenger. The narrow gap between Barcelona and Real Madrid in runner-up pricing reflects the two-horse nature of the title race, where either club finishing second remains highly plausible depending on early results, European commitments, and squad rotation. Mid-table sides carry lower implied probabilities due to the historical difficulty of sustaining a top-two challenge over 38 matchdays.
