Alexander Shevchenko enters this Montreal hard-court qualifier as the clear market favorite against Kyrian Jacquet, holding the No. 89 ranking compared to Jacquet’s No. 120 and a 3-0 head-to-head lead that includes straight-sets wins on hard. Shevchenko’s recent clay results have been mixed, with a first-round loss in Kitzbühel, while Jacquet has shown solid form on grass at Ilkley and captured an ATP doubles title in Estoril. The outdoor hard surface and early-round qualifier dynamics emphasize baseline consistency and serving under pressure, with both players near age 25 and limited recent main-draw momentum heading into the event. Trader pricing reflects Shevchenko’s ranking edge and historical dominance, though Jacquet’s recent competitive showings keep the matchup from being entirely one-sided.
