Surrey enter the July 8 South Group clash at The Kia Oval as clear favorites, buoyed by a potent top order featuring Jason Roy, Josh Philippe, Dan Lawrence, and stand-in captain Ollie Pope, who helped post 240 against Essex recently. The defending champions sit comfortably in the standings with strong all-round depth, including Reece Topley and Chris Jordan in the attack. Sussex, by contrast, remain near the bottom after a patchy start, hampered by injuries to key players such as Tom Clark and Fynn Hudson-Prentice while relying on limited wins to stay in qualification contention. Historical head-to-head results further tilt toward Surrey, though Sussex will look to exploit any early swing or spin-friendly conditions at the home venue.
